Login Issues

E-mail

If you cannot login to your account, there are a few possibilities as to why this is occurring. Please review the following and see if it helps determine what is going on with your account.

Brand New Members

Did you use a valid email address?
If you did not provide a valid email address, then you will not be able to validate your account.


Did you receive an email from Darkness Embraced asking you to validate your account by clicking on a link?
If not, please check your junk mail for an email from us. Often times, they are sent there. If you haven’t validated your account, please remember to do so.


Did you receive a second email stating that your account was approved and that you could now login?
Please also be aware that you will not be able to access the site immediately after validating your account. Once you validate your account through your email, the administrators are then notified that there is a new member to approve. Once an administrator approves your account, you will receive an email that your account has been approved and that you can now login. Please understand that this is not an instantaneous process.


Did you use an AOL Email for your account?
AOL has been known to be a big problem for many web sites. If one person receives a legitimate email from a domain in their email and they mark the email as spam, even if it truly isn't, it triggers a automatic block of any email coming from that domain with AOL's entire mail service. Has this happened to Darkness Embraced? Yes! People subscribe to forum posts and what not, and instead of signing in and unsubscribing from the post, they just mark it as spam, which now blocks any email coming from Darkness Embraced to anyone with an AOL email account. So, if you are using AOL and have not recived any confirmation emails to validate your account, this is probably why. You will need to use another email address in order to obtain membership on Darkness Embraced.


The administration staff must manually approve your membership and no one on our staff may be present at the time of your registration. Please allow up to 12 hours for your approval to come through. If after 12 hours, you have heard nothing, then it’s safe to assume that something has gone wrong with your account. It is possible that your account was rejected for a violation of our policies.


Existing Members

If you are an existing member on Darkness Embraced and you are having trouble accessing your account:

Did you accidentally delete your account?
If you have deleted your account, you will have to repeat the application process again.


Are you receiving an invalid token error with a white page?
Sometimes this happens with all of us due to the caching. Sometimes just hitting the back button will take you back to the page and fix the issue, sometimes not. If this trick does not work, please contact the site owner so we can flush the cache to resolve the issue.


Are you getting a message that you have been banned and cannot access the site?
If so, you must have done something pretty bad for this to occur. If you have not violated any of our policies and you find your account banned, please contact the site owner with an explanation of your situation and we will look into it further.


Have you forgotten your username?
Please use the "Forgotten Your Username" form to retrieve your password.


Have you forgotten your password?
Please use the "Forgotten Your Password" form to reset your password.
