I would like to take a moment and welcome you all to the new version of Darkness Embraced. We are very excited about the new site and hope that you will be as well. If you were a member from the old site, you will have to sign up for a new account. I understand that some of you may feel quite frustrated that so much of your input has been lost, and for that, I do sincerely apologize. I tried everything I could to merge the two systems, but failed at various attempts. My only option was to begin from scratch. It was inevitable and I knew that I would have to do it eventually. The CMS that I was using has pretty much fallen to the wayside with any further development. Their answer to everything was to upgrade to their newest version. However, if I had done that, approving members would not be an option available to us. Many of the features we used daily would have also not been compliant with their new version. Basically we would have been stuck with word press capability and that would have been it. No gallery, no fiction writings, no birthdays, books, or any of the other things that made DE fun.

OTHERS - by Father Sebastiaan
An excerpt from the Sanguinomicon 3rd Ed. September 2008, Rakasha Books. See worlds on worlds compose one universe, Observe how system into system runs, What other planets circle other suns, What varied beings people every star - From An Essay on Man by Alexander Pope You may encounter individuals, traditions, or groups that claim to be Vampyre/vampire or are drawn to the vampire archetype, yet are not Strigoi Vii. We call these “others.” The others and their associated organizations have manifested mostly on the Internet since the late 1990’s. |

The concept of a vampiric culture truly is catching on like the common cold. It's almost a religion to some and not wrongfully so. A religion in a core sense, when scrubbed raw to the point, is a spiritual belief that gives a kind of drive to the living. Even money can be a religion to some. It's a belief that pulls one forward or adds paranormal flavour to otherwise mundane life. After all, if you cannot place belief in the mystical, even magical unseen, life almost doesn't seem worth trudging through when taken at face value, does it? Work, sleep, clean, buy, work, sleep, clean, buy. |

Darkness Embraced.. How true those two words can be. The embracing of darkness, to accept the darkness within myself, to accept that the thoughts that has always been there. I am not like people, I am not like my boss, my friends, my house owner. When I walk through the streets, I see people, I see their feelings, their life's. They project themselves, they walk around carelessly, young to this world. Yes, they may have they worries, but what are they? |

“A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.” - William James, 1842-1910
I can without much uncertainty state that a great plethora of my own prejudices in support of the broad thinkers and the great debaters that I personally have come to admire in and throughout this vast community is due to the ability of many who veil themselves with the label of Vampyre, tend to also be cogent and valued thinkers in their own right. Not in any attempt to place one body of people outside the family of mankind or the realm of other thinkers in the world in any way.
