I'm interested in seeing what people here actually run on, I'm currently running on a computer I built my self with the following specs:

AMD Athlon 64 6400+ Black Edition Dual Core 3.2GHz (Socket AM2)
-Huge Zalman CPU Cooler (so big I was worried about it breaking the bracket on the mobo and -attached it to the top of the case)
ASUS Crosshair Motherboard
4GB Ram
Geforce 8800GT 512MB
Fatal1ty X-Fi Gaming Soundcard
80GB HDD
127GB HDD x 2
250GB HDD

So can anyone beat that lol?

Heh, I wish I could beat it, but it'd only be a high-powered email machine. I do admit to playing a couple of hours of Portal, although the Half-Life graphics engine isn't all that resource-hungry.

Main Machine/File Server
AMD Athlon XP 2.2GHz
Stock Cooler
1GB RAM
128MB nVidia GeForce FX5200
2 x 80GB HDD (root drive and resources drive)
1 x 250GB HDD (media drive)

Download Machine
AMD Mobile Sempron 1.6GHz
1GB RAM
Integrated Graphics
1 x 30GB HDD (root)
1 x 40GB HDD attached via USB (downloads)

Other laptop
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz
2GB RAM
256MB nVidia GeForce Go 7600
120GB HDD

There, my e-peen has been satisfied :P

We've got a few computers kicking around the house, my wife's computer recently had the mobo fry so we're down to two computers.

The computer I use for recording all my music is one of those premanufactured ones running on Vista, it's one of those computers Wal-Mart would carry. That's alright for now because I only run Reaper on it since I record everything through my mixer and mics.

My personal computer I bought on a budget of $666, but I didn't even end up spending that much.

 AMD 64 x2 Dual, 4000+ cpu
 1gb memory
 GeForce 8600 GT
 150gb HD

The case is cheesy, it looks like a Transformer face with a blue led in it's forehead. The only reason I got it was it was mostly black, cheap and the side window has a big biohazard cymbal on it, which is also equipt with blue leds. Eh, it gets the job done so that's all that matters for now.

Tyan Tomcat K8E SLI motherboard

How do you like that mobo Sabastian? I have been looking to replace my wifes mobo and the Tyan K8E SLI server seems to be one of the very few I can find that isn't grossly overpriced and has a 939 socket type.

Oi... well, it's a Frankenstein machine, and I didn't even expect to get a working machine from it, but:

P3 1.2+
Sound card: Some sort of surround 5.1.1
Video: Not sure, but good enough to run some of latest games
24x CD/DVD +/- RW
48x CD
Can't remember the exact memory count, somewhere over 800 megs
24in CRT Monitor with some sort of acceleration tech in it...
2 HDD's, somewhere in the Gigs..
Logitech surround sound speakers

That's all I can tell you off the top of my head, because I'm not going and poking around to find the model numbers and specs. All I know is that it was a miracle it even started... I'm a software engineer, not hardware, so you'll have to excuse the vagueness... To sum it up, I have a computer that's powerful enough with sound and video, to run the newest, best games, but, the processor can't keep up... hehe.. kinda crappy, but, oh well, you get what you pay for I guess.

Bright Blessings,
 Angelis

My rig is a relic from the 50s that takes up an entire room. Well, ok, it's a minimal laptop that gets me where I need to go.

I keep promising myself that I'll catch up to the latest innovation, but circumstances have not yet permitted me to gain entry into that domain.  Roll Eyes

For D.E, and normal use:
IBM T60
Centrino Duo 2.2x2
1gig ram
120gig harddrive
Radeon 512mb video

quite ok for a laptop Smiley
also have three servers standing around..

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000 (3.0 GHz)
2GB DDR2 RAM
500GB WD SATA HD
Soundblaster X-Fi Fatality
512 MB GeForce 4 8800 GT
Don't recall the mainboard, outside of it being an ASUS (Haven't looked in the case lately)

Thats my core system anyway, although I'm always tinkering and upgrading it, so its subject to change monthly.

So far, it runs like a champ. After putting in the Tomcat board, I didn't even have to reinstall XP. I did end up having to run a repair on XP, but that was due to a driver conflict.

My only issue is with the onboard sound. It just has regular old sound, with 1 out for speakers, 1 in for mic and 1 line-in. But, for the price ($64.99 I think it was), I can't complain.
