What is the Darkness Embraced Award?

The Darkness Embraced Award program has been designed to acknowledge and reward other web sites dedicated to vampires, the paranormal, pagan/ occult,  horror, or otherwise macabre genre. We know firsthand how much time and effort goes into the creation, research and maintenance of such endeavors.  The blood, the sweat and yes, sometimes, even the tears. We feel that those who continue on, those that provide something of substance in this internet waste land, deserve some token of commendation. This is but a small token to encompass that gratitude. It also serves as a means of introduction to other quality web sites, that otherwise, would have been missed out on.

What are the Qualifications?

In order for a site to qualify for the Darkness Embraced Award, the site must meet the following criteria:

• Be Dark, Gothic, Vampiric, Horror, Paranormal, or Pagan/Occult related.
• Sites can not contain nudity or pornographic material, hate and flaming, overuse of colorful metaphors, or any criminal intent/illegal activity, cutting or other self harm, or harm to others.
• Contain substance. Variety of information or experiences as outlined in the first bullet. Netiquette must have a presence on the space. Myspace/blogs are more pertinent to the individual's blurbs related to their personal life, drama, etc and normally not a good place for resources and information. This is not what we are looking for, so please, if it is not resourceful material, do not apply.

Follow this link to the Award Application. Fill out all the information requested. Make sure you double check your information before you submit.

When will I be notified of the outcome?

Please allow seven to fourteen days for us to process the review and respond with our decision. From time to time, our personal lives intervene with our abilities to accomplish things here as quickly as we would like, so please have patience. If you are selected, we will notify you via email with an attachment of the award. We will also request that you link the award image back to Darkness Embraced so that others may have a trail to follow  and have the opportunity to apply as well.
