Darkness is a frequently used descriptor, often times befitting the more surreal or the deeper and intimately the most private parts of ones soul, where few if any ever get the chance to glance let alone make any mental record of. This is an area of someone’s spirit that for the most part resides in a place that only one person could understand, the holder of the key to that case, that spiritual vault. Darkness being that vague term that it can so be to so many people, here in this sense it simply refers to that metaphoric place of privacy that is so intimate and so carved into the stone of ones experience, that only the one that is you could possibly understand what truly crafted its visage to begin with, no one else.
The term Darkness has commonly represented the fearful, the unknown and quite apart from the facile factors in society. It also can represent the rugged character traits that have been honed from many sources of life’s drawback experiences. In much of the use of the term, practically speaking, the metaphor often acts as a cloaked simile in the most spiritual of ways being usually used to shadow the events and the happenings of someone’s life that over time has painted the persons persona in many ways. Taking on an almost functional quality in the conscious things of life, it easily influences people’s personalities, augments ones seeming enjoyment regarding the reactions to an often drastically colored outside world. It also can be seen as that depository in the abstract side of peoples selves that express in the most appropriate of ways, the unmentioned hurts, the rejections, the pain in ones past that have over some time and in a fashion, all worked to bring about a rather uncommon state of mind and a spiritual link to the soul that otherwise would probably never have been accessible in the same way and to the same effect and end. Oddly enough, it was quite probably this rare state of being that without much doubt drove the creative minds of people like Poe, Nietzsche and other such philosophers of the dark side of people’s minds. The extension of that bridge to ones darker corners of their souls serves another purpose as well, and one that sets this type of soul apart from many others who walk this Earth. It serves to lift the veil of the mystic and the fearful. To reveal just another aspect of ones human experience and often times ones metaphysical reactions to this side of their soul.
Many who have crossed this bridge of their own increased awareness seem to eventually recognize that along with an increased sensitivity to those things outside of themselves, something seems permanently different within their own lives, their own perceptions of their surroundings and the quality of ones interpretation to people and places around them. Often times this reaches a point of profound spiritual recognition and in the greatest of ways, a spiritual revelation regarding ones own connectedness to their surroundings. Fortunately such a state of being often also presents with the force of spiritual will that drives one to reach down within themselves and to recognize these dark corners of their spirits and to reveal them for what they truly are; simply another aspect of ones essence. Nothing more, nothing less, not a monster, not the quantity of a reject or some warped offshoot of existence, but simply another part of the definition of an enlightened soul who apart from many others, carries within them the capability of looking inward and bringing the force of their own spirits outward to enhance their experiences of life and their little bit of the universe. These are the sorts of individual perceptions that many in the world do fear, for outside of this soulful experience that results from some trial and error or perhaps worse, some traumatic experience of life, an amazing process takes place. This process is called by some, an awakening. The awakening of spiritually soulful qualities and perceptions that for some, define the qualities of their being long since left undefined and unacknowledged. These aspects are common to everyone in the world but as a part of their very being they can often take on varied and different qualities for varied souls. Most have locked these defining qualities away from any light of the conscious for longer than could probably be accurately acknowledged, and in witness to the reactions of much of society, it seems they have certainly been long forgotten. That is until some event drives the awareness open like a great vault door, cracking open the view for many, probably for the first time. Then all of life begins to change, and the awareness begins.
This is the spiritual eventuality of an awakening of what simply is, not what one might wish for. Some claim that the basic source of awareness of their Vampyric traits was driven from such a process. Others from different and varying segments of their own communities have gained their own awareness from various similar and diverse sources of life, but overall the process of ones awakening to these corners of their souls, does act to drive the light of awareness into the darkness that remains the vault of the soul that has been dormant for so long for so many people. This process of delving into ones own darkness within presents it for what it is, and the various shades of grey that advance from this seemingly eternal veil of black that was all of this in ones past, transitions into many different shades of grey leading eventually to varied colors that make up who one truly is. For the Vampyric soul, this awakening takes on many different characteristics, and the same is true for everyone and anyone who gains this inner awareness of themselves. Hence it might be best remembered that everyone has these dark corners of their souls to shut away the matters of life that tax the spirit but yet, the process of an awakening of the spirit allows one to recognize them all for what they are. The door never truly ever closes again once it’s been opened. It becomes recognized as a part of the normal process of existence and of the things of life that much of society considers more in the realm of the paranormal while being held as a metaphysical and firmly spiritual component of ones essence by those who’ve walked this path. We are who we are as soulfully spiritual beings, and nothing sets anyone truly apart from one another regardless of titles, labels or other descriptors, unless someone chooses to segregate themselves. This sort of separation from ones spiritual essence, it might also be best remembered, is what eventually brought about the very sublimation of the spirit that caused much of society’s collective angst to begin with. The beginning of ones inner awareness is what brought about the beginning of the end of the mystery and then the beginning of life again with all of its brilliance.
Delving into the surreal darkness of ones spirit really is no different than searching any part of the soul. What matters is what one does with this awareness and to what end. As the chapters of ones life flows one into another, and one meets the face that stares back from the mirror glass, the inner expression that stares back exhibits exactly what someone wishes it all to be and to mean in their life. In quite literally every case, this represents a good soul not a bad soul and a good spirit not a reject. A good soulfully and spiritually aware connection to the rest of the universe that is all acting in accordance with how it was meant to be to begin with. This connection is what life is and a separation from it is the only abnormal factor to anyone’s existence.
The darkness is just that, the darkness that remains as a veil. What matters is what remains hidden away and what is revealed from all of it.
