ShadowMind, that is truly sad. Wow!
Yeah, it certainly isn't that way I would want it, but, in some ways you get used to it. Now, I have found ways to put myself out, but I prefer to stay away from meds or an overabundance of adult beverages. It usually does bad things to my system in the end.
So, I get to see what it is like when the rest of my usual world is asleep. Not entirely a bad thing.

A new favorite development!
Two hours of being unable to sleep, wake up two hours later, and having to wait another hour or so to be put to sleep again. Hurray!

Sincerely,
Arya Kalarathri

At this stage I'm not even sure it's insomnia anymore. Was diagnosed with cronic insomnia after staying awake for 3 days and nights. The only way I sleep is to be drugged. Still have awesome dreams, though.

Yep, it was another one of those nights. I was up until 3:00 a.m., However the good news is once I fell asleep I stayed a sleep for a change and slept through till mid morning.

Hello,all.
I stayed up all night. I simply couldn't sleep. But I look at it this way, I get a lot of writing done.
I've always had problems sleeping. It's gotten worse lately. I hate taking sleep aids, but sometimes it's the only way I can get some sleep.

I like the Darkside's light.

Used to not have so much trouble sleeping but lately I can't get to sleep for nothing. I'm usually up until about 2am and then have to wake up around 7 or 8. I am not a morning person to say the least.

For me, the only time I ever find true restful sleeping is during daylight hours. Mind you, this can not be with light flowing through a window. I must be in complete darkness. Any amount of light will aggrivate me and keep me awake. Unfortunately my need for money requires that I work. And my need of socializing with my friends requires me to be up during the day when they are.
I always felt that there is too much traffic of thoughts during the day. Most of it is meaningless to me so I escape into my head either though day dreaming or actual sleep when opportunity arives. At night I feel the quiet, every one is asleep and the hundred thoughts of my own that are not being drowned out go crazy. At 3 to 6 A.M in the mourning my brain seems to be in overdrive.
I do not take medicine to help me sleep unless the need if very strong. I feel like I have not slept at all when I do wake. My concentration is then hindered and I am far from 100%. Sometimes if I can focus my thoughts on a single subject I can drift on out. A book helps sometimes but if I am in a really exciting part I can't put it down so it is a failed effort. Lately I have found an escape through gaming. I don't know why this has come about. I can remember many times I lost sleep because I couldn't put down a controller. But for the last 2 years that has changed. I have a few games I have been dying to spend time on but everytime I turn them on, I have trouble getting past the opening screen.
I have thought about it alot for the last bit. I think if I can channel this curse from my games to a bottle we will all be happy. I will mail you all sleeping potions as soon as I get them.
So never fear sleepy people, there is an elusive cure on the horizon.
Ok, well it is about 5:04 A.M. here so I am going to load up The Witcher and say goodnight.. Zzzzzzzzzzz

Occasionally I will have a run on nights where I sleep little/poorly. So, my thoughts go out to you all, since I can really relate to the "I'm-up-at-4-am-and-have-to-be-to-work-at-8....." (Sit and ponder, watch clock, get more anxious, shut eyes and tell self not to open them again... 30 seconds later looking at the clock again)
You are all in good company! Must be the time of year, too. No one is sleeping well at my workplace, either...

Yep, last night was one of those nights. I even went to bed early. I had just fallen asleep when I got an unexpected phone call. It woke me and my son up. Ugh....needless to say it took me an hour to get him settled back down and after that I couldn't fall back to sleep.

Saturday night was a RPG night for me and some friends. By the time we finished up the session it was 1 AM. Well, I went well past my normal sleep point so that meant5 a really difficult time falling asleep. So, by the time I fell asleep, my four year old was at bedside wanting breakfast!
