Every Victim Redux Every Victim Redux Xerces

Welcome to the ONLY website, that gives the facts about the V-5 Virus.

First of all, to those who don't know or have never heard of this virus, a brief background. V-5 (though it is known by several names including Code V, Code 5, K-17, G-17, Stem Alpha and so on) is a virus that several websites claim to be the truth behind real vampirism.

Well, I hate to burst peoples bubble on this subject, but this virus is a HOAX. How do I know? Well, read on to uncover the truth and the facts about this so called virus. And find out why I know so much, and happen to be a so called expert on this subject. For those of you who don't know me, or have never heard of me - Apart from being a real vampire myself and holding the positions of Elder, Council Member and Co-Founder in several vampiric groups both on and off-line, I am a freelance web designer, and have done contract work for many big companies including film and television companies.

Going back several years ago I was contacted by a friend of mine, and he asked me to help him design and code a web site that was being done as a publicity stunt for a forth coming British TV show called Ultraviolet. He went on to explain what the show was about and if I would have any problems with it because he knew that I myself am a real vampire. I said to him that I didn't as all the other vampires I knew had their heads screwed on and would take it for what it was.

A Hoax

So a few days later, I received a designer’s pack from him containing the brief and all the information that was going on to the site; some information about the show, which was about Government funded Vampire hunters battling Vampires living in the modern world, and the Code V Virus that was responsible for creating vampires. So I set about working on this site, and had a lot of fun making it.

The site itself contained Fake Government documents, fake medical reports, fake e-mails supposedly written by British Professors, doctors, British MPs and the so called Hunters themselves. But the key things that indicated that this was a hoax was first of all at the bottom of every pages was written “coming soon to Channel Four TV”, and the links page had one link..to the forth coming Channel Four website, and when you clicked on the more info link, it gave you information about the characters INCLUDING their Real Names.

As you have read in the previous section, this virus is a hoax, a publicity stunt done to advertise a British TV Series. About 6 months after the site went up, someone on one of the many e-list's I am on posted a link to a website that claimed to have discovered the truth behind Real Vampirism, and that what causes it is a virus, and that unlike what we had all been saying. We can actually "embrace and turn others into vampires."

Alarm bells started to ring, so I visited this site to discover that the site in question was full of information from the ultraviolet website, word for word, including the FAKE medical reports, the FAKE e-mails, the FAKE documents. Within 3 hours this site was closed down and legal proceedings was started to sue the owner of this website for copyright infringement (and this is still happening, so if you own one of these websites, this is a warning to you. Copyright infringement is the same as theft, and you will be prosecuted) Over the months that followed a total of 23 websites were closed, and their owners prosecuted (to date that number has reached 67 and all of the site owners are being prosecuted to the full extent of the law.) The reason, that I have only just put a site together, explaining the facts about this fake virus, is that I believed at first that this would all just go away, not only that, the original web site was still up.

But it didn't and the past couple of years around the spring time for some reason (I guess it has something to do with the school holidays) the e-mails concerning this virus popped up, leaving me to send an e-mail to the groups that the e-mails popped up on, informing them about the hoax. So I decided to put a web site together in a hope that many of the major vampire sites will allow a link from their site to this one, and help squash this annoying myth. Now for the myths about this virus and some truths about real vampirism....

Myths.

  • Code V (and all of the names it is known as) is a FAKE virus.
  • Someone who has this fake virus can create other vampires. (yeah, only in the show)
  • The reason why these websites were closed, was part of a worldwide Government cover up.
  • The people that own the websites that are still up are Doctors, work for a secret branch of the government, or are associated to any worldwide government.

Facts.

  • Vampires are BORN, we are not created by a mystical bite, or by a magickal ritual. The reason why we are the way we are, has yet to be discovered. But with the advances in the medical fields including genetics, maybe one day soon we will have an answer.
  • Anyone who claims they can turn someone into a vampire, is just lying to you. the same as if they claim to be immortal, that they are x hundred years old.
  • This Virus is nothing more then a publicity stunt, for a TV show.
  • Real Vampires live a normal lifespan.
  • People who claim to be Vampire hunters/slayers and that they have killed vampires etc, are nothing more then buffy/van helsing wanna be's, who wouldn't know what a real vampire was even if they were to bump into them on the street. (And, the chances are some of them have)

About The Show - Ultra Violet

The Show in question was a 6 part miniseries made for the UK's Channel 4 produced by World Productions. It was based round British Police detective Michael Colefield (Jack Davenport) and the way he is sucked from what he believes in, into a world of the supernatural where vampires really do exist, after he finds out his best friend has become one.

Soon after learning the truth the hard way, Mike is recruited by a mystery government funded organisation know as the CIB, where he finds many of the members of the unit, have all lost someone or something close to these blood thirsty creatures.

  • Vaughan Rice (Idris Elba) lost his fellow soldiers in the Gulf.
  • Dr. Angela March (Susannah Harker) lost her husband and daughter.

This soon brings on the realization that in this war, like the one of which he's now a part, personal loss is often what drives the combatants, but more to the point his own fear about his former fiancee, Kristy, who makes Mike's still waters run deep but who has also been asking entirely too many questions since Jack left her standing at the altar. Rather than the usual assortment of vampire hunting weapons, this modem day vampire extermination unit uses garlic gas grenades. They are utomatic weapons with state of the art sensors and tracking systems, that fire carbon tipped rounds.

But as the plot unfolds Mike starts to doubt his decision to join the fight, as the vampires (also known as Code V named after the virus that has made them what they are or leeches) are claiming that they're searching for a peaceful solution to the warring, that all of their research and experiments on human diseases and environmental devastation are aimed at uniting the two sides, not dividing them in peaceful coexistence. And pointing out, that they are not in the habit of bringing anyone over to their side that doesn't come of their own free will. Is good and evil as simple as black and white? Is Mike even on the right side?

It is also good to point out the messages that are hidden within the series dealing with the modern issues such as AIDS, global warming, CJD, Ebola, pollution and abortion and weaving them with the medieval concept of vampires, to form a modern vampire myth. If you would like to have your site, added here, please feel free to contact me. But bear in mind, I ask that only sites that contain information on Real Vampirism add a link to this site.

Conclusion

The V-5 Virus is nothing new to anyone who has quite a number of years in the vampire community. It started with a site that, to quote someone else "Was the Achilles heel of the vampire community". Regrettably, although the person who began this is now deceased, her site was left to the devices of Geocities, that up until recently, left the site remain. When we heard that Geocities was shutting down, we were all too pleased to think that this site would finally hit the Internet trash disposal. But most unfortunate, her spouse decided to purchase a domain and move it.

To make matters even worse, there is another site that has decided to copycat her fruitless plagiaries of Ultra Violet along with some other outlandish nonsense of his own. He is continuing on with her legacy of making a complete embarrassment out of himself as well as the real vampire community. No one in the real vampire community believes or accepts anything that is produced by either of these fantasy driven "vampire wannabe" sites.

Unfortunately, the gentleman (who is a real vampire himself) who knew and posted the truth of the matter on the V-5 and K-17 Virus has left the domain expire and it is only available on Internet archives. We have retrieved the information and posted it here since this urban legend has submerged back into our communities again. I let his words speak on the matter and hope that this puts an end to this once again, irritating urban legend.
